A Slice Of Life...

A slice of life …

It wasn’t long ago when he made the first trip. He could feel the dampness around his eyes as the swiss air flight took off, he had promised he wont come back but he did just the same way he went “Empty Handed”. The only priceless thing he carried back was a “scroll” that read Master of Science in Telecommunications and Information Systems.

3 years down the line life has become a ball for him. First he got offers from 2 major corporations for a 6 figure salary, and second he got the thing he wanted desperately some months back. His passport to the place he dreamt to be seven seas away…

Today he stands fixed at the same spot he was some years go. Maybe his experience abroad has left him wiser and more toned down to realities or maybe he is a coward and he cant face what’s staring right at his face.

He made a call late night to tell someone he deeply respects and care for about the quandary he was in, when he heard the ecstasy sounds and the loud cheers he changed his mind. Somehow in light of their happiness his problems seemed so mediocre. Everyone he deeply cared for and spoke to just seemed too happy for him and then he knew his trepidation just didn’t hold any prominence.

Maybe he is afraid or maybe he believes his jinx will carry forward across the seven seas. There are so many memories that he wants to leave behind, somehow they all have found a way to catch up with him especially when he is in such a state.

Long ago he had mastered nobility by shunting down his desires and walking ahead with a smile in the face of a fate he knows would have been his. Winning for him isnt tragic but if he loses it means facing a familiar position again.

That explains why he still retains her phone number and memories tho they are no longer friends. The remembrance is also a part of the paraphernalia that teaches him a very important lesson as to “how much it hurts to love someone too much and not being loved in return

In anycase for all that he knows he may win again because of the dogged spirit that he has or maybe he wont. But he will go ahead and do it.

He realised its always going to be this way for him. It was a rather conscious decision that his life was for others and what he is going to do next is the least he can do.

And suprisingly all this ostensibly for “having a slice of life” that he may never call his …
